January 21, 2011 - Coastal's Spray Foam Engineers, Insulation Specialists and members of the Quality Assurance team will be undertaking the recently announced safety training program that is being launched by the Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) of the American Chemistry Council (ACC) on January 17, 2011.
 
This new training aims to increase education regarding good safety practices, especially among spray polyurethane foam applicators and helpers.

The interactive, self-paced online training is available at no charge, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The program includes 12 units covering a wide range of topics including: information on SPF ingredients, sage use, handling, disposal of SPF and safety control measures - engineering controls, work practices and personal protective equipment.
 
The time to complete all 12 units of the training is estimated at 1.5 to 2 hours. At the end of the training, an exam tests competency in the core health and safety topics presented in the training. After successful completion of the exam, participants receive a "Recognition of Completion" form and wallet-sized card demonstrating their knowledge of SPF safety practices which is valid for two years from the time of exam completion. There is also a public search feature accessible from the CPI web page for interested parties such as employers, suppliers, customers and others to verify training completion by querying the system-generated ID numbers listed on the "Recognition of Completion" card.€ (www.spraypolyurethane.org)
