Coastal hosted a successful Air Barrier Association of America (ABAA) spray polyurethane foam installer training course on March 29 - 31, 2011.

There were two classes offered: Sprayed Polyurethane Foam Installer Certification Challenge Program, and a Quality Assurance Program Administrator Course. The installer certification program combined theory with hands-on, practical instruction, in order to provide participants with the required skills to correctly install an air barrier assembly. The quality assurance program delivers an overview of the ABAA Quality Assurance Program, contractor and installer obligations, and project reporting and documentation.

Coastal is an ABAA certified contractor. There are many reasons to specify the ABAA Quality Assurance Program in your projects. Often, the air barrier assembly is a non-maintainable component of the building enclosure. You only have one chance to ensure correct installation prior to the application of other components in the building enclosure. Repair costs can be up to 60 times more expensive than ensuring proper installation the first time around. As such, you want to make sure the job is done right, the first time!
